Validated by a psychologist

As a psychologist and art therapist, I believe that the way we speak to ourselves affects how we feel and experience life. Sometimes we fall into habits of self-criticism, perfectionism, or negativity, but it's important to remember that we are more than our worst moments and thoughts. We are enough as we are, and we don’t need to be perfect to deserve love and acceptance.

When we remind ourselves that we have the courage, integrity, and resilience to face challenges, it helps us shift our mindset. These affirmations aren’t a quick fix, but they can help us be kinder to ourselves. It's not about expecting everything to change at once, but about starting to replace judgement with understanding.

In therapy, I encourage clients to notice how they talk to themselves. Using a more accepting and compassionate tone can help us feel more grounded and connected to our inner strength. Self-acceptance doesn’t happen overnight, but it begins with small, consistent steps - learning to embrace who we are and trusting the journey that life unfolds for us.
